CAMBRIA
120 feet below grade (fbg), or until drilling refusal is encountered In general, groundwater
sampling depths will be determined in the field based on the soil types encountered We will
target coarse-grained soil zones for groundwater sampling If no coarse-grained zones are
encountered we will attempt to collect groundwater samples at 10-foot intervals
Soil samples will be collected from CPT-5 at approximately 110 and 120 fbg Groundwater
samples will be collected in coarse-grained soils found between 100 and 120 fbg
Soil samples from CPT-6 will be collected at 10 fbg to rule out any offsite shallow source
No additional soil samples will be collected from CPT-6 as the intent of this boring is to
evaluate deep groundwater conditions And any impacted soil at depth is likely due to
impacted groundwater moving through the soil Groundwater samples will be collected from
CPT-6 at approximately 60, 75, 80, 92 fbg at a minimum Additional groundwater samples
will be collected in coarse-grained soils found between 100 and 120 fbg
Soil samples will be collected in boring CPT-7 at depths of 10, 50, 70, and 100 fbg
Groundwater samples will be collected at approximately 60, 75, 80, 92 fbg at a minimum
Additional groundwater samples will be collected in coarse-grained soils found between 100
and 120 fbg
A Cambria geologist will supervise the drilling and describe encountered soils using the Unified
Soil Classification System and Munsell Soil Color Charts Soil samples will be collected as
described above for soil description, possible chemical analysis, and organic vapor screening
with a photo-ionization detector Soil samples will be retained in stainless steel or brass
sample tubes and will be covered on both ends with Teflon sheets and plastic end caps Soil
samples will be labeled, entered onto a chain-of custody record and placed into a cooler with
ice for transport to a State of California certified laboratory for analyses
I
The scope of work described in this work plan will be performed under the supervision of a
registered geologist
Groundwater Sampling Groundwater samples will be collected from the CPT borings using
CPT groundwater sampling equipment The groundwater samples will be placed in approved
groundwater sample containers and submitted to a State of California certified laboratory for
analyses
•
1399 3
