This document describes the <br />objectives of the work recently completed, background of the site, investigation <br />techniques, and findings and recommendations for future work. <br />OBJECTIVES <br />The objectives of the site assessment activities were to: <br />• Further evaluate on-site stratigraphy and assess water quality in three, <br />previously identified, water bearing zones. <br />• Assess the groundwater quality interactions between the upper, intermediate and <br />deep water -bearing zones, and; <br />• Provide a work plan for additional site assessment activities, based on the data <br />collected, consisting of drilling and installing five groundwater monitoring <br />wells (three deep, one intermediate, and one shallow), and destruction of <br />groundwater monitoring well MW -1. <br />SITE BACKGROUND <br />The site is an operating Chevron service station located in a primarily commercial area <br />at the southwest comer of the intersection of West Charter Way and South Lincoln <br />Street in Stockton, California.
