Chevron Products Company .
0
Chevron Service Station #9-2033 508 West Charter Way, Stockton California January 18 2001
• Soil Sampling and Analysis. Selected soil samples collected from soil boring
SB -2 were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg),
aromatic hydrocarbons (i.e. BTEX) and fuel oxygenates. Results are
summarized in Table 1.
Analytical results reported no detected benzene, toluene, xylenes or fuel
oxygenates in soil samples submitted. TPHg and ethylbenzene concentrations
of 130 mg/kg and 0.026 mg/kg were reported in the soil sample SB -2 at 27 -feet
bgs.
Groundwater Sampling and Results. Discrete interval samples were obtained
from various depths within each of the borings. Procedures for groundwater
collection are outlined in Attachment B, Field and Laboratory Procedures.
Collected samples were analyzed for TPHg, BTEX compounds, and fuel
oxygenates. Results are summarized in Table 2.
SB -2 Groundwater analytical results for water samples collected from SB -2
suggest increasing concentrations of TPHg from 790 gg/L at 46.5 feet bgs to
3,100 µg/L at 54 feet bgs. Results for groundwater at 82 feet suggest no TPHg
was present. Similar trends were noted for BTEX and TBA.
SB-3/CPT-01 Groundwater analytical results for water samples collected from
SB -2 suggest a decrease of TPHg, BTEX and fuel oxygenate concentrations
throughout the profile. Concentrations of MtBE were typical of this trend:
46,000 gg/L at 35 -feet bgs, 160 µg(L at 62.5 -feet bgs and 6.0 µg/L at 86.5 -feet
bgs.
SB-4/CPT-02 Groundwater analytical results for water samples collected from
SB-4/CPT-02 suggest an increase of TPHg from 840 µg/L at 44 -feet bgs to
1,200 µg/L at 54 -Feet bgs. Benzene concentrations at these same depths
increased from 22 µg/L to 84 µg/L. Ethylbenzene and xylene concentrations
were approximately equal at these depths and MtBE and TBA decreased with
depth. No analytes were detected in the 83 -foot sample from SB -4.
Stockpiled Soil. Less than 1 cubic yard of soil was generated while drilling SB -
2, which was placed onsite in a 50 -gallon drum. One 4 -part composite sample
was collected from the soil and analyzed for TPHg, BTEX, and lead. Integrated
Waste Management of Milpitas, California contracted to remove the stockpiled
soil from the site. Stockpiled soil analytical data is presented in Table 3.
077.41991.0180\Chevron\92033\REPORTS\92033 PhaseIISA RevA.doc
