i 0'
Chevron Products Company 4
hevron Station#9-2033,508 West Charter Way,Stockton California March 19.2 1
intermediate water-bearing zones Screen intervals will be determined from
stratagraphic information collected from the CPT logs and constructed to obtain an
accurate representation of the groundwater conditions in the upper water-bearing zone
at the site
Adjacent to each of these wells, four additional groundwater monitoring wells will be
advanced into the second water-bearing zone Screen intervals will be determined from
CPT log data These wells will be installed to evaluate ground water and hydrocarbon
rrugration/infiltration into the second water-bearing zone
The sand pack for all wells will extend approximately one foot past the screen interval,
followed by a three-foot thick bentonite seal From the bentonite seal the wells will be
finished to grade with neat cement Surface completions will be at grade
Following installation, all monitoring wells will be developed by rigorously surging the
wells over the length of the screen interval and by purging approximately 10 casing
volumes of water After well development, groundwater samples will be collected and
transferred under standard chain-of-custody procedures to a California State-certified
laboratory The groundwater samples will be analyzed for TPHg, BTEX, and the fuel
oxygenates MtBE, DIPE, TAME,ELBE, TBA, EDB, 1,2-DCA, ethanol, and methanol
by EPA Method 8260B
Depth to groundwater measurements will be collected during sampling activities and
utilized for interpretation of groundwater flow and gradient beneath the site
A California licensed surveyor will survey all wells California state plane coordinates
and latitude and longitude will be collected for monitoring and reporting purposes The
proposed vertical survey accuracy is 0 01 ft
Hydrologic Evaluation:
The interaction between the groundwater in the upper and intermediate water-bearing
zones will be evaluated Groundwater monitoring results will be used to assess
horizontal and vertical gradients within the shallow and intermediate wells The data
will be used to assess the unit hydraulic gradients for subsequent analysis
The groundwater quality data from both shallow and intermediate groundwater
monitoring wells will be compared to assess the vertical distribution of petroleum
hydrocarbons and fuel oxygenates
REPORT
A site assessment report will be issued following the completion of all field activities,
receipt of the analytical reports from the laboratory, survey records and physical and
chemical data analysis
1 1Chevron1920331REP0RTSlfurther site assessment WP_RevA doc
