The meeting was held to discuss the origination and cleanup of the
rather large groundwater contaminant plume identified in and around the intersection
of Charter Way and Lincoln Avenue.
Several other potential sources to the groundwater contaminant plume have been
identified with soil and/or groundwater data. The responsible parties for the other
sources will be directed by this office to begin an investigation on their property in the
near future.
ARCO will be conducting additional on site investigation prior to the removal of the
underground storage tanks on their site to determine any further source areas that
may be contributing to the groundwater contaminant plume. ARCO will take
measures to abate the soil contamination identified at this site as well as the on site
groundwater plume.
The last phase of drilling at the Texaco site has only delineated the groundwater
contaminant plume to the south east of the site. However, additional groundwater
plume source areas have been identified in several other directions. Texaco will be
initiating an on site soil venting remediation system in the near future.
ARCO and Texaco will make efforts to coordinate groundwater monitoring and
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
