The down gradient
extent of the plume, to the north of the site, was established with the installation of monitoring well 10 in
August of 1991. The area that remains to be defined is to the east of the site. The contaminants being
detected in monitoring well 5, the most easterly monitoring well, are at levels high enoughl to warrant
another sampling point further east.
As the remediation system is currently in operation, it is crucial to have the full extent of the
contamination defined. The monitoring wells atz the perimeter of the plume provide useful information on
the range of influence and the efficiency of the remediation system.
Please continue to submit quarterly status reports to this office. In addition to the monitoring well data,
the reports should include information on the status of the remediation system, complete with any
pertinent laboratory data. As a reminder, this office requires 48 hours advanced notice prior to any
sampling activity at the site.
A workplan to investigate the extent of the contamination to the east of the site should be submitted to
this office by July 6, 1992.
If there are any questions, please contact Linda Turkatte, REHS, of my staff at (209) 468-0339.
JogiKhanna, M.D., M.P.H.
ealth Officer
La rie A to la, REHS, gram Manager
Environmental Health Division
LAC/LT:lb
c: CVRWQCB-Beth Thayer
c: Jerry Wilske-Aegis Environmental
1050 Melody Lane, Suite 160
Roseville, CA 95678
A Division of San 3oaquin Counry Health Gare Services
