Shell - 5 - March 29, 2012
UPDATED, April 2012, residual contamination in the source area continues with 0.03 feet
(0.36 inches) of free phase product noted in MW-16-50, approximately 17 feet beneath the
active UST basin. Residual contamination remains confined to the central portion of the active
retail gasoline station. The affected shallow groundwater is not used as a source of water
supply nor is it likely to be used as a source of water supply in the foreseeable future. Water
users in the vicinity of the site rely on the California Water Company. Based on facts in the
record and hydrologic and geologic conditions at the site, the limited residual petroleum
hydrocarbons that remain in soil and groundwater pose little risk to human health, safety and
the environment. The Fund continues to recommend that the San Joaquin County LOP review
this site for closure.
Y/
Kirk Larson, P.G.
