Vicki McCartney [EH]
From: Vicki McCartney[EH]
Sent: Friday, March 05, 2010 4:21 PM
To: `Kirk Larson'
Subject: RE: Five year reviews
Kirk:
2969 Loomis Road, Stockton, California, -
Three extraction wells (EW-4 through EW-6) were installed in January 2010, and the wells
have been developed. Equipment is at the site for completing the three dual phase
extraction (DPE) pilot tests that were approved by our department by letter dated March
23, 2009. Once the San Joaquin Valley Air District issues an Authority to Construct
Permit (I've been told by Tamorah Bryant, P.E. of Geological Technics Inc. , that this will
be completed within the week) , then the three DPE pilot tests will be initiated. The most
current report for groundwater collected at this site on November 17, 2009, indicates that
TPH-diesel was detected in five of the eight shallow wells with the highest concentration
detected in MW-7 at 5,450 micrograms per liter. We will need the results from the pilot.
tests before deciding how effective DPE is in reducing the contaminant mass at this site.
620 Charter Way, Stockton, . California
By letter dated July 13, 2009, our department directed a feasibility-study/remedial action
plan be submitted for this site. Prior to submitting a corrective action plan, Conestoga-
Rovers and Associates (CRA) proposed additional site investigation involving the
advancement of five CPT borings in the area most impacted, near CPT-4 and MW-16-50, to
characterize subsurface lithology and identify potentially permeable subsurface soil
units. Our department approved the work plan .propo.sed by CRA by letter dated February 19,
2010. Once this investigation has been completed, CRA will submit a corrective action
plan.
Please let me know if you need additional information.
Vicki McCartney, Senior REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
600 East Main Street
Stockton, California 95202
Phone: (209) 468-9852
Fax: (209) 468-3433
Email: vmccartney@sjcehd.com
-----Original Message-----
From: Kirk Larson [mailto:KTLarson@waterboards.ca.gov)
Sent: Thursday, March 04, 2010 10:25 AM
To: Vicki McCartney '[EH]
Subject: Five year reviews
Good morning Vicki:
I your opinion, what is the status of the following sites:
2969 Loomis Road, Stockton
620 Charter Way, Stockton
Thanks, Kirk
Kirk T.
