Charter Way, Stockton, CA has been reviewed by San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department (EHD). The plan is a proposal to extract contaminant
vapor from the soil and groundwater that has been contaminated due to unauthorized
releases from the UST's which were located on the property. Contaminants in the
extracted vapor will be destroyed by a catalytic oxidation process; contaminants in
groundwater will be filtered out utilizing granular activated carbon prior to discharge of
the treated groundwater to the City of Stockton sewer system.
EHD has made a tentative determination that the plan is in compliance with local, State
and Federal laws and regulations and that the resultant work will not create significant
adverse environmental impacts which exceed the benefits to be gained from cleanup of
the contamination.
The interim remediation work plan is available for public review at the EHD office at
600 E. Main Street, Stockton during normal working hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Final approval for the plan is scheduled for October 24, 2008.
Questions should be directed to Nuel Henderson, PG, at (209) 468-3436.
