l .
18 May 2001
AGE-NC Project No. 97-0326
Due to the high concentrations of contaminants encountered in the current existing wells and the
February 2001 CPT survey, additional wells will be necessary to adequately assess and monitor
ground water,as stated in the October 2000 work plan;the eventual placement of additional ground
water monitoring wells will be based on the results from the two CPT surveys. Procedures for the
advancement of borings and the installation and sampling of the monitoring wells were described
in the Monitoring Well Installation Work Plan. However,AGE recommends that monitoring wells
be installed in clusters based on the results of the February 2001 CPT survey, which assessed
hydrocarbons in ground water samples collected from deeper depths. The water-table wells will be
designed as proposed in the July 1998 work plan. The deep well design will be provided to the PHS-
EHD in a work plan addendum and will be based on complete results of the CPT investigation.
Encroachment and access permits will be obtained from the City of Stockton, and access agreements
will be obtained from the owners of 721 East Charter Way prior to commencement of drilling on
their respective properties.Any additionally required drilling permits will be obtained from the PHS-
EHD.
