Place auger returns and rinseate in 55-gallon DOT-approved drums and store on-site.
Disposal alternatives will be evaluated based on results of laboratory analyses.
12. Complete the boring adjacent to the UST as a ground water monitoring well. PVC casing
with 0.020-inch slotted screen will be installed from 60 to 40 feet bsg with blank PVC casing
extending to the surface. The boring near the dispenser island may also be completed as a
monitoring well, based upon field observations. The proposed monitoring well construction
is illustrated in Figure 3.
4.2. MONITORING WELL DEVELOPMENT
1. During monitoring well installation, surge the water in each well using a surge block or
bailer to settle the sand pack prior to installation of the overlying bentonite plug.
2. During initial ground water monitoring, purge additional water until the produced ground
water is essentially sediment free.
4.3. GROUND WATER SAMPLING
1. No sooner than 72 hours after installation, measure to the nearest 0.01 foot. the static water
level in each monitoring well.
2. Using a submersible pump or dedicated bailer, purge each monitoring well. At least three
well volumes of water will be removed from each well to stabilize temperature, pH, and
conductivity; stabilization parameters will be measured at regular intervals during purging.
3. Collect ground water samples from each well using disposable bailers; samples will be
collected in 40-m1 VOA vials.
4. Label and log water samples on a chair.-of-custody form.
5. Store the samples in a chilled container and transport under chain-of-custody to a state-
certified laboratory for analysis. Ground water samples will be analyzed for TPH-g, BTE&X
and oxygenates in accordance with EPA Methods 8015m/5030, 602 and 8260, respectvely.
6. Store purged water in 55-gallon DOT drums on-site pending analytical results.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
