25 January 2001
AGE-NC Project No 97-0326
32 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF WATER SAMPLES
TPH-g was detected in samples collected from MW 1,MW2 and MW3 at concentrations of 93,000
I micrograms per liter (gg/1), 39,000 gg/l and 160,000 µg/l, respectively Benzene was detected 3n
samples from MW 1, MW2 and MW3 at concentrations of 3,500 gg/l, 7,800 gg/l and 19,200 µg/l,
respectively Toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes were detected at concentrations as high as 23,000
gg/l, 4,900 µg/1 and 25,000 gg/l, respectively(MW3)
MTBE was detected in all of the ground water samples, the lughest concentration was 670 µg/1 in
MW-1 Also, 1,2-dichloroethane(28 gg/l) was detected in the water sample from MW-3 No other
oxygenated compounds were detected in the samples analyzed Analytical results of water samples
are summarized on Table 2 The laboratory report(MAI Laboratory ID 56444-56446), QA/QC and
cham-of-custody are included in Appendix B
4.0 SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
• Based on the data collected from the site, AGE finds
• The inferred ground water flow direction at the site has been toward the south during the six
I monitoring events conducted, however, the historical ground water flow direction at the USA
site, adjacent to the east, and at the Morita Brothers site at the southeast corner of East
Charter Way and Grant Street, has been toward the east or northeast
• Very high concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in ground water samples
collected from all three monitoring wells installed at the site
• Neither the vertical nor horizontal extent of impacted ground water has been delineated at
the site
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the findings of this investigation, AGE recommends
• Continuation of quarterly ground water monitoring, as required by the PHS-EHD
0 Installation of additional soil boring as needed to delineate the vertical and horizontal extent
of impacted ground water
•
Advanced Geo Environmental,Inc
