Site Background information <br /> AGE-NC Project No 97-0326 <br /> Page 3 of 5 <br /> IResults of the February 2001 investigation were reported in Cone Penetrometer Testing (CPT) <br /> Report - February 2001, dated 19 June 2001, results of the November 2001 investigation were <br /> reported in Cone Penetrometer Testing (CPT) Report- November 2001, dated 25 March 2002 <br /> In March 2004,three pilot borings for monitoring wells MW-7 through MW-9 were advanced using <br /> a CME-75HT drill rig(MW-7 and MW-9)and a CME-95 drill ng(MW-8),both equipped with 8 25- <br /> inch diameter hollow-stem augers Pilot borings MW7 through MW9 were completed as ground <br /> water monitoring wells Boring MW-7 was completed as a single-level monitoring well using <br /> two-inch diameter PVC casing with 0 020-inch slotted screen installed from 28 feet to 48 feet bsg, <br /> with blank casing extending to the surface The filter pack(No 3 Lonestar sand)was installed from <br /> approximately 26 feet to 48 feet bsg <br /> IBarings MW-8 and MW-9 were completed as multi-level monitoring wells utilizing 1 7-inch <br /> diameter continuous multi-channel tubing(CMT)or mute-level polyethylene well casing The inside <br /> of the multi-level well casing consisted of seven '/2-inch diameter teflon chambers, four of the <br /> chambers were utilized as monitoring wells, screened at depth intervals of between 28 and 48 feet <br /> bsg,between 80 and 85 feet bsg,between 109 and 119 feet bsg(109 and 123 feet bsg in MW-8),and <br /> between 140 and 150 feet bsg, respectively <br /> RECEPTOR SURVEY <br /> A receptor survey was performed to identify city, domestic, irrigation or monitoring water wells <br /> located within a 2,000-foot radius of the site The following is a summary of the findings of the <br /> survey <br /> • No CSMUD water wells were located within the 2,000-foot radius, the nearest well site is <br /> Water Plant No 2 (WP-2), located on Diamond Street more than a mile away <br /> + According to Mr Eric Mar of California Water Service,there are no active wells within the <br /> 2,000-foot radius specified, their nearest well is inactive Well 50-01, located 1,560 feet <br /> northeast of the site <br /> IA representative of AGE performed a file review at Department of Water Resources(DWR) <br /> One reported private well is located at 1642 South California Street, the resident was not at <br /> home during the area reconnaissance survey,and the status of the well is unknown The well <br /> is located cross-gradient to the site based on historic ground water flow directions <br /> • The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(EHD)was contacted to identify <br /> and locate potential receptors within a 2,000-foot radius of the site The EHD provided <br /> . information regarding monitoring wells adjacent to the site <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br /> I <br />
