I it could indicate that the contamination in this well is possibly from the former BP Station on Mr. Morita's property. MtBE was detected in BM-1 and BM-3 only. BM 1 is located in the old tank pit and BM-3 is located upgradient of the old tank pit. We believe this MtBE is related to gasoline coming from the ARCO station . We tested the water in BM- 12 for oxygenates and the results are shown in Table 313 . No oxygenates were found . Dissolved oxygen levels were recorded this quarter at this site. The levels were measured with a calibrated YSI model 51 B meter by placing the sensor 5 feet below the surface of the water table after the bailing of the wells . The measured levels are shown on Table 3A. The readings of dissolved oxygen are between 2 . 3 at well BM-8 and 6. 2 at - well BM-2 . The levels appear to be stabilizing across the site. l VAPOR EXTRACTION SYSTEM The site has been under remediation since July 1997 . A total of 42 , 549 pounds of gasoline has been removed since the beginning of this project. The vapor extraction was shut down on February 5, 1999 because no BTEX chemical was being recovered. This quarter we drilled vapor extraction well VW-7 and found soil contamination in this well . We expect to restart the vapor extraction system along with air LI sparging in the old tank pit this quarter. Conclusions We will continue to monitor this site . The next monitoring event will take place in October 1999. We believe that Morita's property has not been investigated to a point where the path of L their contamination is defined . We believe that this should be investigated and the results shown to us. Attached is a Hazardous Waste Manifest showing that the purged water was disposed of properly.
