EHD has discussed with CGG testing the individual wells for their
contribution to the recovered contaminant mass to determine whether or not
some areas may benefit from a more focused application of the SVE system
energy or if the system should be removed . This testing is likely to involve
sampling the individual wells during active SVE for analytical analysis for
contaminant concentrations. This may best be accomplished through use of a
mobile SVE unit to test the individual wells . Submit a work plan for testing the
SVE wells to EHD by 21 November 2005 .
The results of the recent CPT investigation show that contaminant-impacted
groundwater was recovered from permeable intervals at depths of 72 feet bsg ,
92 feet bsg , 120 feet bsg , 143 feet bsg and 158 feet bsg . Also, the CPT log
showed an unsampled distinct sand and/or gravel interval at approximately 132
to 135 feet bsg . The CPT results should be verified by installation of discreet-
depth , short-screened wells. Submit a work plan to EHD no later than
28 November 2005 to install wells to verify these CPT results in the immediate
former UST area .
Questions or comments may be directed to Nuel Henderson by mail (address on
letter head ), or by telephone at (209) 468-3436 .
Donna Heran , RENS , Director
Environmental Health Department
Nuel C .
