Rodger Liston F
Darpetro Inc.
749 E. Charter Way, Stockton, California
The State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB ) Cleanup Fund has inquired
whether or not it would be more economical to replace the thermal vapor
destruction unit on the soil vapor extraction system with carbon canisters at this
point in the vadose zone remediation effort. Please have your consultant
evaluate this issue and make a recommendation to EHD . The SWRCB Cleanup
Fund may decline reimbursement if thermal vapor destruction cannot be shown
to be more cost-effective than carbon canisters. EHD also recommends that the
hydrocarbon yield from each well on the SVE system be determined so that
ineffective wells can be shut down and focus the system energy on the wells still
yielding significant hydrocarbon mass .
If there is any confusion on any of these issues, please call the undersigned for
clarification , EHD desires to assist you and/or your consultant in this matter as
much as possible. Questions or comments may be directed to Nuel Henderson
by mail (address on letter head ) , or by telephone at (209) 468-3436 .
Donna Heran , REHS , Director
Environmental Health Division
Nuel C .
