This SVE work plan describes the proposed <br /> methodology to conduct a soil vapor extraction pilot test. The purpose of the proposed work is to <br /> obtain the data needed to evaluate the technical feasibility of soil vapor extraction as a potential <br /> remedy for hydrocarbon soil contamination and to compare the cost-effectiveness of vapor <br /> extraction to alternative remedial actions. <br /> BACKGROUND INFORMATION <br /> Site Description and Hydro Geologic Setting <br /> The location of the site is shown on Figure 1 . The site is a active gasoline service station located at <br /> 749 East Charter Way, Stockton, Ca.. The nearest drainage feature for this site is the Stockton City <br /> storm drain system around the perimeter of the property. Predominant land use in the site vicinity <br /> is commercial / industrial. Surface elevation at the site is approximately twenty feet above sea <br /> level. The land surface in the site vicinity is relatively flat and covered with asphalt or cement. <br /> First groundwater currently occurs at a depth of approximately 45 feet below grade and flows in a <br /> easterly direction. <br /> Site Investigation Summary <br /> HISTORY <br /> On November 14, 1989 three tanks were removed at this site and three fiberglass tanks were <br /> installed. The laboratory results taken at the time of removal tested positive for gasoline <br /> hydrocarbon contamination. <br /> On December 19, 1989 an Electromagnetic Induction Survey was conducted on the site to aid the <br />
