This SVE work plan describes the proposed
methodology to conduct a soil vapor extraction pilot test. The purpose of the proposed work is to
obtain the data needed to evaluate the technical feasibility of soil vapor extraction as a potential
remedy for hydrocarbon soil contamination and to compare the cost-effectiveness of vapor
extraction to alternative remedial actions.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Site Description and Hydro Geologic Setting
The location of the site is shown on Figure 1 . The site is a active gasoline service station located at
749 East Charter Way, Stockton, Ca.. The nearest drainage feature for this site is the Stockton City
storm drain system around the perimeter of the property. Predominant land use in the site vicinity
is commercial / industrial. Surface elevation at the site is approximately twenty feet above sea
level. The land surface in the site vicinity is relatively flat and covered with asphalt or cement.
First groundwater currently occurs at a depth of approximately 45 feet below grade and flows in a
easterly direction.
Site Investigation Summary
HISTORY
On November 14, 1989 three tanks were removed at this site and three fiberglass tanks were
installed. The laboratory results taken at the time of removal tested positive for gasoline
hydrocarbon contamination.
On December 19, 1989 an Electromagnetic Induction Survey was conducted on the site to aid the
