jll
ii
On November 6, 2000 we drilled two borings (13-2 and B-3) to a depth of 90 Feet Bgs and 100
Feet Bgs. This was reported on our report dated December 14, 2000 .
On November 17 , 2003, we submitted a Amended Site Concept Model ,
On July 20, 2005, we drilled one boring and two monitoring well (B-4 , MW-14 and MW-16) to a
depth of 158 feet bgs for the borings and 50 feet bgs for the two monitoring wells. This was
reported in the Drilling Report dated August 24, 2005.
Introduction
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has requested a work plan to
use a mobile SVE unit to test each individual vapor well to determine if the soil vapor system
(SVE) that is on site could further benefit the soil clean up or if the system should be removed
from the site .
WORK PROPOSAL
There are five extractor wells VW- 1 VW-3 VW-4 VW-5 and VW-6 on this site. VW-2 was
converted to an air sparging well for the Soil Vapor Extraction System . We propose to run a pilot
test using a mobile SVE unit to test each vapor well for the contaminant concentrations. This will
be accomplished by connecting a model V3 IC engine unit to the existing vapor lines . When it is
operating it will extract vapors from each individual well at a rate of 20-50 SCFM until at least three
(3) pore volumes of air/vapors have been removed from the vadose zone . This test will take
between a week to 10 days. On the final day of extraction , samples will be collected from each
well using a Summa canister and delivered to a certified laboratory and analyzed for EPA Method
TO-3 and oxygenate compounds.
With the results a report will be submitted to the Environmental Health Department, San Joaquin
County.
Yours truly, `SgERED &E
H.
