0 The water table has risen about 4 ' since-; the October, 1992 meaurement, but has dropped about 0 4 ' since the May, 1994 reading_ The average depth measured in May of this year is the highest since quarterly monitoring began The change: In the water table could be affecting the varied levels of contamination measured to date. On February 7 , 1994 , a meeting was held at the CalYlornia Regional Water- Quality Control Board offices in Sacramento to discuss the relationship between the site at 814 E Charter Way, (Morita Bros ) and 749 E Charter Way, (Darpetro, Inc. ) Attendees included staff members of the Regional Board & San Joaquin County EHD, and owners & consultants of the two sites Data presented at that meeting revealed that an extensive area of contaminated soil & groundwater exists in the immediate area caused by leaking UST' s at the Darpetro site It is suspected that the contamination detected beneath the Morita Bros property is coming from that undefined plume. At that meeting, the San Joaquin County FID staff stated that the soil beneath the Morita property had been succe:7s1ully remodiated and did not require further work Quarterly groundwater monitor- ing was to continue until additional work is performed to de�;lzn- • eate the vertical & horizontal extent of the plume originating at 749 E Charter Way. We understand that additional monitoring wells have been proposed by that firm, but do not have any recent information on the progress of that work We dial furnish Darpetros' consultant with prior monitoring data to assist them in their work However, we have received nothing from them concerning work .in progress.
