' G eolag ical Tecluucs Inc Page 8
Groundwater Momtonng Report
Project No 724 2
May 17,2004
• The trace Toluene (0 4 ug/l) detected in well MW-11 indicates that an up gradient
source has contributed to the plume beneath the subject site Additional monitoring
' is needed to confirm this possibility
Recommendations
' . Maintain the current quarterly monitoring schedule to determine contaminant and
gradient trends
• Reduce the sampling frequency of the stable wells to a semi-annual basis to achieve
' project cost savings (MW-1, MW-3, MW-4, MW-5, MW-6 and MW-104)
• Perform a file review of the SJCIEHD records for the two up gradient LUFT sites to
' determine if a co-mingled plume is present
• Perform a limited investigation to collect groundwater samples to the east of the site
to establish a "non-detect" point of the groundwater plume This should be of a CPT
' type investigation without the installation of additional wells
' 4.0 LIMITATIONS
This report was prepared in accordance with the generally accepted standard of care and
practice in effect at the time Services were rendered It should be recognized that definition
and evaluation of environmental conditions is an inexact science and that the state or
practice of environmental geology/hydrology is changing and evolving and that standards
existing at the present time may change as knowledge increases and the state of the practice
continues to improve Further, that differing subsurface soil characteristics can be
experienced within a small distance and therefore cannot be known in an absolute sense
All conclusions and recommendations are based on the available data and information.
The tasks proposed and completed during this project were reviewed and approved by the
local regulatory agency for compliance with the law No warranty, expressed or implied, is
made
1
1
