Charter Way SITE CODE : 1779124
Stockton , Ca ,
San Joaquin County Public Health Services , Environmental Health
Division ( PHS /EHD ) has completed the review of the " Quarterly
Report for the Fourth Quarter 1994 " dated March 8 , 1995 ,
submitted by Geological Audit Services , and has the following
comments for your consideration .
The report states that the full extent of the soil and
groundwater contaminant plumes have been identified at this site .
The degree of groundwater contamination to the north east past
monitoring well MW#4 has not been determined with physical data .
An inferred extent of contamination in this direction has been
made , but ultimately , another well in this direction ( on the
adjacent property ) may be warranted .
As the assessment of the extent of the soil and groundwater
contaminant plumes is complete , feasibility studies to determine
the most efficient , cost effective remedial approach must be
conducted at the site .
The last round of groundwater sampling has revealed low levels of
contamination in monitoring well MW# 5 for the first time since
the initiation of monitoring in 1992 . In order to begin to
reduce the levels of contamination at the site , which currently
may be migrating further off - site , active remediation should be
initiated as soon as possible . Therefore , the site specific
portion of these tests should be conducted in a timely manner .
Please conduct site specific feasibility tests at this site
within the next 60 days . If groundwater extraction and/ or vapor
test wells need to be installed , please submit a brief well
construction workplan . Please include cross sections of soil
lithology to support the placement of the screen sections of the
wells .
Once the feasibility data is available , a corrective action plan
( CAP ) must be compiled and submitted to PHS /EHD for review .
Enclosed is a copy of the section of the California Code of
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
