The remaining samples had relatively low concentrations
detected, but TPH were consistently detected just above the ground water surface. Ground
water, encountered at a depth of 25 feet, was suspected of being affected by tt;y vertical
migration of petroleum hydrecarbons. It appemed that petroleum hydrocarbons migrated
vertically from the former USTs to the ground water surface and then moved laterally
along, and in the capillary zone just above the wafer surface. Results of the soil boring
investigation were presented in a Kleinfelder report dated Jura 14, 1989. :
r} In October 1990,Nomellini Construction authorized Kleinfelder to conduct an assessment
of ground water beneath the site. This report presents the field activities and analytical
data associated with the ground water assessment. Conclusions and recommendations are
also presented, and are subject to she limitations in Section.6 of this report.
-mit and a wort: plan dated October 10, 1990, which
K.leinfelder prepared a drilling peg
outlined the proposed ground water assessment, prior to initiating it work. The work
plan and drilling permit was approved by SJCEHD in December 1990.
t
F!8-91-62 3
Ycopyright, 1991 Fieln.fclder, Inc.
1 d
