Sethi-confined or confined aquifer conditions are encountered.
2. High petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations are indicated in the
ground water.
3. An aquitard is encountered.
If any of the above conditions are present, the screen section depth and
length may be revised.
o The PVC pipe will be steam-cleaner;prior to installation.
0 Well screen sections will be perforated with 0.010 or 0.020-inch factory-cut
slots. The decision will be made out in the field based on geological
conditions.
o The annular space between the pipe and the wall of the boring will be
backfilled with the appropriate clean Lone Star Industries Monterey-sand to
tpprmdmately 1 to 2 feet above the top of the p rforated section.
o A 3-foot bentonite plug will be placed above the sand pack to provide a seal
against surface water infiltration.
o The remaining annular space will be filled with cementjbentonite grout to
the surface.
o Each well will be secured inside a locking well rover,
3.4 MONITORING WELL DEVELOPMENT AND SAMPLING
148-88-2109
5
