01 May 2000
AGE-NC Project No 95-0121
1 Page,4 of 7 =r
' between the October 1999 and January 2000 ground water momtonng events
Ground water monitoring data collected in the area of wells MW-1 through MW-7 indicated that the
ground water flow direction was generally toward the northeast-north at an average gradient of 0 01
' ft/ft, or approximately 53 feet per mile (Figure 3) Ground water was approximately 10 to 16 feet '
above'the screen intervals ofMW-1 through MW-7
4 2 LABORATORY RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
A total of seven ground water samples were submitted to a DHS-certified laboratory in January
2000 TPH-g was detected in water samples collected from wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-3,MW-4 and
MW-7 at concentrations ranging as high as 50,000 micrograms per liter (AZg/l)
BTEX compounds were detected in ground water samples collected from wells MWA, MW-2,
' MW-3 and MW-4 at concentrations ranging as high as 10,000 /.Zg/l (benzene, MW-3)
MTBE was detected in ground water samples collected from wells MW-2, MW-5 and MW-6 at
concentrations ranging as high as 230,ug/l
Analytical results of the ground water samples are summarized in Table 2 The laboratory reports
' (Castle Analytical Laboratory Reference No 2785) and chain-of-custody forms are presented in
Appendix B
1
4 3 - RESULTS OF VAPOR EXTRACTION PILOT TEST
Between 15 February 2000 and 31 March 2000, the SVE and IAS remediation system was
operational for 1,056 hours During the operational period, flow rates ranged from 18 to 30 standard
cubic feet per minute (scfm) at differential pressures between 0 10 to, 0 30 inches of water, the
induced vacuum stabilized at approximately 0 25 inches of water during this start-up period of the
remediation system Hydrocarbon concentrations were measured at regular intervals at the SVE inlet
' Possibly because the SVE and IAS remediation system was in the start-up phase, no general trends
were established from the PID field measurements Field measurements are summarized in Table
4
44 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF SOIL-GAS VAPOR SAMPLES
1
Soil-gas vapor samples were collected on 28 February 2000, on 08 March 2000 and on 29 March
2000 TPH-g was detected in soil-gas vapor samples collected from the SVE inlet at concentrations
- Advanced GeoEnvironmcntal,Inc
