1 1
01 May 2000
AGE-NC Project No 95-0121
Page 6of7
' (Table 2) The dissolved petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations detected at wells MW-2,
' MW-3, MW-5 and MW-6 in January 2000 occurred witlun the typical range of hydrocarbon
concentrations previously detected in ground water samples from each well
• Monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, MW-4,MW-5, MW-6 and MW-7 are"drowned",
and yield samples more representative of deeper ground water conditions
• The elevated concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons detected in samples collected from
wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, MW4 and MW-7 indicate that these wells are within or near
the dissolved petroleum hydrocarbon "core area" of the plume (Figure 4)
Based on SVE remediation data collected between 15 February 2000 and 31 March 2000, AGE `r
concludes
1
• The volume of hydrocarbons extracted from the inlet of the SVE system was calculated to
be approximately 5 7 gallons of petroleum hydrocarbons (Appendix E)
• SVE flow rates ranged from 18 to 30 standard cubic feet per minute (scfrn) at differential
pressures between 0 10 to 0 30 inches of water
No general trends were established from the PID field measurements possibly because the
SVE and 1AS remediation system were in the start-up phase and the system had not yet
stabilized
6.0. RECOMMENDATIONS ,
Based upon first quarter data collected from the site, AGE recommends
1 ,
• Continued quarterly ground water momtonng and sampling of wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-3,
' MW-4, MW-5, MW-6 and MW-7, ground water sampling results will,be used to monitor
progress of the SVE and 1AS remediation system
4 a
• Continued operation of the on-site SVE and IAS remediation system, remediation progress
' will be reevaluated on a quarterly basis
' 6.0. LIMITATIONS ,
1 i
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based upon
analytical results provided,by an independent laboratory Evaluations of the geologic/hydrogeologic
conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation are made from a limited number of
available data points (i a monitoring wells, ground water samples, soil-gas vapor samples) and
Advanced CcaEmironmcntal,Inc
