Hunter, RG, of Wm. J. Hunter & Associates met with
Jerrie Gasch, RG & CEG, at Gasch & Associates office at 0845 ;
discussed operation, loaded equipment, and drove to site .
Arrived at site 1030 hours; vehicles had previously been moved
from main area of interest - on west side of shop building, north
of the office .
Using a 300 ' metal tape, the chain link fence at the west side of
the property was marked at 10 ' intervals for reference purposes .
The area was traversed from west to east at 10 foot intervals
with a Schonstedt magnetic & cable locator operated by Mr. Gasch.
Any unusually high readings above background levels were marked
with paint for further delineation. The area surveyed extended
from the northwest corner of the office building about 90 feet to
the north, and from the fence to the shop building. After
completing that survey, the area was traversed in a north-south
direction at 10 , intervals to further define any anomalies .
Several small spots of higher magnetic signal were detected
within the area of the existing leach field which services the
office building, but none were considered significant .
However, 60 feet north of the NW corner of the office building,
and about 20 east of the west fence line, a large magnetic
anomaly was detected. It was approximately 221 long and 2 1/2 to
3 feet wide, and lay in an east west direction as shown on the
attached sketch. It did not appear to extend farther to the west
than shown; due to magnetic interference from the metal building,
it was not possible to tell if it continued beneath the building.
However, it did not appear to do so.
There were three, roughly circular objects indicated extending in
a north direction from the west end of the large metal object .
The first one was 121 north of the end, the second was 81611 north
of the first, and the third was 916" north of the second. Their
relative position is shown on the attached sketch.
After preliminary identification of major anomalies, Mr. Gasch
traversed the area north-south and east-west on a 5 foot grid
pattern to confirm the approximate size of the above objects, and
make sure that all possible features had been located. No other
significant metallic objects were noted in that area .
The equipment was then moved to the parking area on the south
side of the building between Highway 4 and the fence on the east
side . That area plus the parking spaces in front of the office
1
