n
C A M B R I A
groundwater is encountered while drilliny any of these borings we will collect a
groundwater sample.
Work Tasks
Permits: An application for a drilling permit will be submitted to the SJCPHS/EHD.
Site Safety Plan: A Site Safety Plan will be prepared for field work.
Utility Clearance: Proposed drilling locations will be marked and their locations cleared 1
through Underground Service Alert prior to drillin .
Site Investigation: Four soil borings (SB-1 throng SB-4) are proposed as shown on figure 3.
The borings will be drilled with GeoProbe soil sampling equipment. A Cambria geologist will
supervise the drilling of the borings and describe encountered soils using the Unified Soil
Classification System and Munsell Soil Color Charts. Soil samples w' l-be-e-O'H ted from the
borings at five-foot intervals for soil descriptioli, possible chemical analysis, nd organic
vapor screening with a photo-ionization detector (P
These soil borings will be advanced until there is n field evidence of petroleum hydrocarbons
in the soil samples. We will terminate the borings once we have sampled 10 feet below the
last soil sample that had field evidence of petroleum hydrocarbons. If groundwater is
encountered in any of the soil borings we will collect a groundwater sample for laboratory
analysis.
Soil samples will be retained in stainless steel or brass sample tubes and will be covered on
both ends with Teflon sheets and plastic end caps. Soil samples will be labeled, entered onto a
chain-of-custody record and placed into a cooler with ice for transport to a State of
California certified laboratory for analyses. j
Groundwater Sampling: If groundwater is encountered in the borings, groundwater samples }
will be collected using GeoProbe groundwater sampling equipment. Groundwater samples will
be placed in approved groundwater sample containers and submitted to a State of California
certified laboratory for analyses.
The scope of work described in this work plan iA ill be performed under the supervision of a
registered geologist.
1511 3
