The Leader in Submersible Technology
VARIABLE SPEED SUBMERSIBLE TURBINE PUMP SPECIFICATIONS
(2 Hp models: IST, STPAG-VS2 and STP-VS2)
GENERAL
• The entire pumping assembly shall have UL listing.
• The pump discharge head and manifold assembly shall be manufactured from ASTM A48 class 25 gray iron.
• The pump shall use a 2 Hp 3-phase variable frequency motor designed for installation through a standard 4" tank
opening.
• The pump shall be available with an optional variable telescoping length feature such that the pump length is field
adjustable from 88" (223 cm) to 150" (380 cm) in length without disturbing the UL label. Pumps that require
shorter or longer lengths than this range shall be accommodated with a shorter or longer variable length model.
This variable length feature shall be standard on all units with model designations beginning with "IST'.
• The pump motor shall have a thermal over -current overload protector with automatic reset.
• The pump motor assembly shall be clearly marked with pertinent information including Model, Horsepower,
Voltage, Phase, and Manufacturer etched into the pump shell for permanent identification.
• The STP and IST pumps are designed for motor fuels, and they are UL listed for blend concentrations of:
Standard models:
0% - 15% ethanol or methanol and gasoline • 20% ETBE with 80% gasoline
20% MTBE with 80% gasoline • 17% TAME with 83% gasoline
AG (akohollgasoline) models:
0% - 100% ethanol or methanol and gasoline • 20% ETBE with 80% gasoline
• 20% MTBE with 80% gasoline • 17% TAME with 83% gasoline
Other motor fuels that may be used with the STP or IST are Diesel, Fuel Oil, Avgas, Jet Fuel, or Kerosene. The maximum
liquid viscosity for a product is 70 S.S.U. at 60° F.
Using our STP or IST pumps in liquids other than those mentioned above have not been tested. The reaction of other liquids
with seals and wetted surfaces of the pump is unknown. A hazardous situation may result from using other liquids with our
pump.
• The pumping unit shall not incorporate any flexible diaphragms. All sealing shall be accomplished with 0 -rings or
UL recognized fiber gaskets.
• The pump shall be rated to operate between —40°F (-40°C) and 104°F (40°C) with non -gelled product.
• The pump shall operate with a variable frequency controller (VFC). The VFC shall be designed to vary the speed
of the motor to provide constant flow to up to 8 car fueling nozzles operating simultaneously. The predetermined
flow rate will be that of less than 10 GPM (38 LPM) to meet federally mandated "Spitback" control. The VFC shall
have the following additional functions:
o Report Abnormal Operating Conditions. The VFC shall report the following abnormal operating conditions
by means of a red flashing light on the face of the controller, or by connection to a computer through an RS
485 communications port.
CONDITION
Tank Empty
NO, OF FLASHES
1
Low Incoming Voltage
2
Locked Rotor
3
Open Power Circuit
4
Capacitor Failing
5
Short Circuit
g
High Temperature VFC
7
Dry Run Protection - accomplished by continual monitoring of motor power
consumption. The VFC shall turn the motor off when this or any of the conditions listed
in the table occur.
4805 Voges Road, P.O.
