Proposed <br /> monitor well locations are shown with respect to former tank and sampling locations on Plate 2,Site <br /> Plan. Ramcon's Standard Procedures for subsurface investigation work are attached for reference <br /> in the Appendix. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> In 1987 an approximate 1000-gallon waste oil and a 12,000-gallon diesel tank were removed from <br /> the site. A field sketch noted in the County (SJCEMD) file generally shows the tanks formerly <br /> located as shown on the attached Plate 2. Limited available test data indicate that volatile aromatic <br /> (BTX)compounds were detected in soil from beneath the south end of the diesel tank,and that low- <br /> level polychlorinated biphenyls were reported in the soil sample from beneath the waste-oil tank. <br /> The excavations have been backfilled and concrete flatwork is now present at each of the former tank <br /> locations as approximately shown on Plate 2. <br /> In October 1999 Ramcon was retained to perform soil and water sampling at the six locations shown on <br /> Ramco n H:\WPDATA\MIKE\MikeTemp2003U.Anderson\Workplan Page I <br />
