This report presents the results of our work. The
purpose of the investigation has been to evaluate subsurface conditions with respect to former
underground tank usage.
The approximate location of the site is shown on the attached Plate 1, Vicinity Map. Soil and
groundwater sampling locations are shown with respect to the former tank locations on Plate 2, Site
Plan. Following Plate 2 is Table 1, a tabular summary of the chemical data developed during the
investigation. Subsurface conditions noted during the drilling work are presented on Plates 3 through
8, Log of Boring. Nomenclature used to describe soils on the logs is defined on Plate 9. Ramcon's
Standard Procedures for subsurface investigation work are presented for reference in Appendix A.
Laboratory data reports are presented in Appendix B.
BACKGROUND
In 1987 an approximate 1000-gallon waste oil and a 12,000-gallon diesel tank were removed from the
site. A field sketch noted in the County(SJCEMD)file generally shows the tanks formerly located as
shown on the attached Plate 2.Limited available test data indicate that volatile aromatic (BTX)
compounds were detected in soil from beneath the south end of the diesel tank, and that low-level
polychlorinated biphenyls were reported in the soil sample from beneath the waste-oil tank. The
excavations have been backfilled and concrete flatwork is now present at each of the former tank
Ramcon H:\WPDATA\1070-2JANDRSON\REPORTS\InvRep Page 1 of 4
License No.510034
