B&C Painting Solutions,, Inc.
Hazardous Materials Disposal Practices —HMBP- 0C1_
CI' 1 '015
(Hazardous Materials Business Plan)
Below outlines some basic guidelines for personnel when the need arises to
dispose of hazardous materials.
1. Identify the waste being handled.
2. Don the appropriate protective equipment, ensures anyone else assisting has
also put on PPE.
3. Use appropriate containers to store waste. The company has specific
containers that are here to store waste. Do not use a modified or incorrect
container for waste.
4. Once waste has been placed into a storage container, make sure that the
HAZMAT labeling has been affixed to the container.
5. Labels must be filled out completely with the identity of the company
generating waste easily readable. The contents of the container clearly marked
and all properties of the waste identified. Make sure that the start date is also
noted on the container.
6. All waste containers must utilize a secondary containment system.
7. Inform ECT Tech that hazardous waste has been stored.
8. All materials contaminated during the clean-up/disposal process (i.e., rags,
paper towels, floor sweep) are themselves to be considered as hazardous waste
and disposed of per company guidelines. Do not throw by-products into a trash
can!!
9. There is a specific procedure for the disposal of aerosol cans. Only aerosol
cans that are completely empty are permitted to be placed into a trash
receptacle. Ask an Environmental Compliance Technician for information
regarding aerosol cans that are not completely empty.
10. In the event of a spill during waste transfer, spill response procedures are
initiated immediately.
