General Contractor to purge product lines into tanks using nitrogen gas. <br /> 2. Recoverable product removed from tanks by fuel distributor. <br /> 3. Flush product piping back into tanks. <br /> 4. General Contractor to remove tank slab and overburden. <br /> 5. Triple rinse product lines,pump out and triple rinse tanks using a vacuum truck and high pressure <br /> hydroblasting equipment until.0% LEL is achieved and all tank scale and sludge has been removed. from <br /> the tank interior. <br /> 6. All tank cleaning rinseate will be pumped out of the tank and be profiled and disposed of in accordance <br /> with U.S. Code of Federal Regulations(CFR)Title 40,Parts 260-279 and CCR Title 22, Div. 4, Chapter <br /> 30 and shipped using a Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifest to an approved T.S.D.F. <br /> 7. Replace rnanways and close other tank openings, except for small vent. <br /> 8. Tanks to be certified to comply with Title 22 sec. 67383.3 (e)(2),(B)(C) by Pacific Chemical Labs, Inc. <br /> Henry M. Sorenson,NEPA Certified Marine Chemist# 633 Ph.(510) 583-0075,CUPA form 1249 to be <br /> used by the Marine Chemist for tank certification. <br /> 9. Environmental Health and or Fire Dept. to verify LEL readings of 0%and/or Oxygen<10% if required. <br /> 10. The tanks will. be inerted using dry ice at the rate of 25lbs/1000ga1. until the oxygen level has been <br /> reduced below 10%. <br /> 11. Under the authorization of the Fire Dept. and or County Environmental Health Inspector the tank may <br /> then be removed from the excavation and placed on a flatbed truck for transportation to Vasco Road <br /> Landfill for disposal. <br /> 12. Tanks will be transported as Non-Hazardous Waste using a Nora-Hazardous Waste Data Form to the <br /> Vasco Road Landfill in Livermore, CA,the receiving facility will issue Certificates of Destruction.for <br /> the tanks. <br /> The following guidelines published by the American Petroleum Institute(API) are used in training and <br /> practice and can be furnished upon request. <br /> API 2219: Safe Operation of Vacuum Trucks in Petroleum Service, <br /> API 2015: Safe Entry and Cleaning of Petroleum Storage Tanks. <br /> API 1604: Closure of Underground Petroleum Storage Tanks. <br /> NFPA 326: Standards for the Safeguarding of Tanks for Cleaning. <br /> r1WRLA <br />
