F
1111 Navy Drive $
Stockton, CA 95024
Re: Soil Investigation
Dear Mr. Munoz:
Weiss Associates (WA) is pleased to provide this proposal for soil
sampling around a cluster of four. 12,000-gallon underground tanks at Safeway
Stores, Meat Packing Facility, 1111 Navy . Drive, Stockton, California. The
objective of the proposed work is to determine the extent of hydrocarbons in
and around the tank cluster.
On 29 January 1987" Precision Industries determined that Tank #2, the
third tank from Navy Drive, was losing fuel and could notbe
precision-tested. The tank was drained and left empty overnight. The next
day there were 60 inches of water in it, confirming. that the tank is leaking.
The top of the tank has been exposed and further work is awaiting_ proposals to
1
remedy the situation.
We have reviewed the events and discussed your situation with local
agencies while compiling your unauthorized leak report. We recommend the
following scope of work to determine the extent of hydrocarbons at your site
and to document our findings:
