Location and Description of Site <br /> 1111 Navy Drive, Stockton, CA - This facility is a wholesale <br /> meat packing warehouse. Underground fuel tanks were removed <br /> from an area on the south side of the facility near Navy Drive <br /> B. Description of Hazardous Wastes and Substances <br /> Benzene, toluene, xylenes and total petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> were detected in a- 1-30-90 Preliminary Assessment Report. <br /> Groundwater monitoring wells sampled did not detect any <br /> concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons. <br /> C. Threat to Public Health and Environment <br /> Hydrocarbon contamination has been detected in soil to a depth <br /> of 15 feet below surface. Groundwater monitoring wells are in <br /> place and water is measured at approximately 25 feet below <br /> surface. At this time, continued monitoring is needed before <br /> threats to health and the environment can be determined. <br /> II. Site Status <br /> A. Status of Site Activity <br /> Safeway has entered this site into the Pilot Program. <br /> Quarterly sampling of groundwater to monitor vertical <br /> migration of contaminants is' currently underway. <br /> B. Projected Revenue Sources <br /> Safeway will pay for all costs associated with future <br /> investigations (if warranted) , continued monitoring and any <br /> remediation. <br /> .J <br />
