Box 2009
445 North San Joaquin
Stockton, CA 95201
Dear Ms. Hinson:
Attached please find the quarterly groundwater sampling results for
Safeway's Stockton Meat Plant. This report also addresses your
questions outlined in your May 14, 1992 letter to Safeway.
As you will note, Safeway believes that groundwater and soils have
not been significantly impacted on this site. Additionally,
drummed purge water contains such low concentrations of TPH that we
are requesting the County allow on-site disposal of the water.
Our next quarterly sampling is scheduled for August, 1992 . Based
on the past results, we believe that BTEX analyses can be
discontinued at all three monitoring wells. Therefore in August,
we will be sampling for TPH-diesel, pH, conductivity and
temperature only. Total coliform will continue to be analyzed at
MW-6:
Please call Bill Spong at ERM-West if there are any questions.
Very truly yours,
Melita Elmore
Vice President, Environment, Health and Safety
ME/sbr
attachment
cc: Don Christenson (without attachment)
Bill Spong ( )
Recycled Paper
