Upon arrival at the safe locations, a complete head count will <br /> be given to the Project Manager and personnel will stay at the <br /> I <br /> safe locations until the area is secured. <br /> D. Personal Injury <br /> If an injury occurs due to an accident or exposure to a hazardous <br /> substance, the Western Geologic Resources Command Center will be <br /> notified. The Safety Officer will be 'given- all appropriate <br /> information concerning the nature and cause of the injury .so that <br /> treatment preparations can be initiated. The injured 'person will be <br /> transported to the Contamination Reduction line where appropriate <br /> first aid and treatment can begin. The Project Manager will be <br /> informed and will investigate the cause of the injury and make any <br /> necessary changes in work procedures. <br /> E. Ambient Monitoring Contingencies <br /> When ambient monitoring on the downwind edge of the site indicates <br /> significantly higher than background levels of any contaminants, the <br /> Safety Officer and Project Manager will immediately determine the <br /> cause, make changes to work practices or procedures, and if <br /> necessary, make changes in site layout (i.e., change the location of <br /> the Command Center_ decon area, or Exclusion Area), and warn <br /> unprotected personnel to evacuate or don protective equipment. <br /> In the event of an accident resulting in physical injury, first aid- <br /> will be administered, and. the injured worker will be transported to <br /> San Joaquin General Hospital for emergency treatment. <br /> 26 <br />
