The employer shall be responsible for the <br /> establishment and maintenance of this respiratory protection program. <br /> The Proiect Safety Officer will approve the selection, purchase, and <br /> inspection of the models and tvves of respiratory protective devices. <br /> A medical evaluation is required prior to wearing any respirator, except <br /> where emergency escape respirators are provided. The contract physician <br /> shall determine annually if any health or physical 'conditions exist <br /> which would prohibit a worker - from being assigned to an -.area requiring <br /> respiratory protection. A record will be retained in the employee's. <br /> medical file, which will be retained at the medical clinic ' or doctor's <br /> office. <br /> Respirators shall not be worn when conditions prevent a facepiece- <br /> - s <br /> to-face seal. Such conditions as facial hair, scars, wrinkles, facial <br /> diseases, dentures removal, or other disorders could prevent a proper <br /> facepiece-to-face seal. I:n these cases, corrective action will be taken <br /> to ensure a proper seal.
