` SECTION 5
CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
' Safeway and ERM-West believe that the following conclusions can be
drawn regarding the Meat Packing Facility in Stockton
• Whale soil containing low levels of TPH-diesel as present on site
' and under Navy Drive, groundwater has not been seriously
impacted
' • Biotreatment of soils from drill cuttings is ongoing on the
property
' • Drummed purge water is stored on site and Safeway is requesting
that the County allow for disposal on site
' The following recommendations are made regarding the site:
• Quarterly groundwater monitoring will continue Potentiometric
maps will be prepared along with the presentation of each
quarter's analytical results Parameters such as pH,
conductivity, and temperature will also be included TPH-diesel
'
will continue to be analyzed at all three monitoring wells Total
coliform will continue to be analyzed at monitoring well MW-6.
Based on results, we believe that BTEX analyses can be
discontinued at all three monitoring wells
' • Unless changes in groundwater movement occur, an upgradient
well is not necessary at this time.
' • Further delineation around the UST fuel lines would not be likely
to substantially advance the current understanding of subsurface
Iconditions
• Based on the lack of significant contanunation, no additional
investigation or remediation is planned for the near fixture
I
I 5-1
