At some <br /> point Ultramar merged with Valero. On May 17, 2002, Tesoro purchased the site. Tesoro sold to Green <br /> Valley Gasoline(operated as USA Petroleum)on December 11, 2002. <br /> Tesoro retained responsibility for contamination, if any, resulti g from Velaro or Tesoro activities prior to the <br /> sale to USA Petroleum. As a condition of the sale,Tesoro agre d to conduct an investigation to document the <br /> environmental condition of the site, even though it was believed that contamination had been cleaned up by <br /> Velaro in the past. <br /> As I mentioned to you over the telephone, the work is beingreviewed by Harlin Knoll of the San Joaquin <br /> County Environmental Health Department. I am sure that I arlin will be happy to speak with you. Moriitoring well installation would only take one <br /> day and the well would be sampled 48 hours after completion.
