SITE.CHRONOLOGY
USA PETROLEUM SS #3696
TESORO SITE #67080
LOP SITE CODE: 0001536
APN: 05814001
CVRWQCB CASE#3 9 1161
10/29/2003 ' The date San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD)'issued a
well permit for Geoprobes for an environmental site assessment for a real estate
transaction and property transfer.
12/01/2003 GeoProbe sampling was performed during EHD inspection on this date. Soil
contamination was documented at 35 feetbgs; PID measurements were in the
moderate range. The GeoProbe equipment met refusal at 35 feet below ground
surface (bgs) so the proposed depths of 55 1 o 80 feet were not reached.
12/03/2003 On this date drilling continued on-site using a drill rig equipped with hollow stem
augers. Soil samples were collected for chemical analysis.
12/04/2003 Three monitoring wells were completed at 1he site on this date.
12/17/2003 The three monitoring wells were developed and sampled for the first time on this
date. Depth to water was approximately 47-48 feet bgs. Water samples from
MW-1, the most downgradient well, had T P-diesel at 63 ug/L and MTBE at 4l0
ug/L. Water samples from MW-2 and MW-3 contained low levels of TPH-diesel
and MTBE near minimum laboratory detecl ion limits. Those ground water
contaminant concentrations have continued to decrease over time.
11/02/2004 The EHD filed a Notification of Hazardous Waste Discharge and an Unauthorized
Release Report and placed the site in the Local Oversight Program on this date.
02/07/2005 The date of Baseline Assessment for Soil Boring and Monitoring Well Installation
in which Delta Environmental recommended MW 1 be destroyed and replaced
with a monitoring well 20 to 50 feet down-gradient (south)which would be on an
adjacent property owned by First Lodi Plaza Associates.
03/19/2008 The EHD staff discussed the site with Central Valley Regional Water Quality
Control Board (CVRWQCB) staff on this date. The off-site property owner has
continued to deny access for installation of a monitoring well. It was agreed that
GeoProbe sampling could be used instead of installation of a monitoring well.
05/22/2008 A work plan dated May 8, 2008, prepared by Azure Environmental for GeoProbe
sampling down-gradient and south of MW-1 was approved by the EHD on this
date.
