(Delta), has been authorized by Ultramar Inc. to abandon a
domestic water supply well at the above-referenced site. This work will be performed as a
prerequisite to connecting facilities at the site to the City of Lodi water supply system. The location
of the site is'shown in Figure 1 and the location of the domestic water supply well is shown in
Figure 2.
The well to be abandoned is reportedly 144 feet deep and has a 6-inch diameter, unscreened,
open-bottom steel casing. The well will be abandoned by backfilling the casing with neat cement
grout supplemented with approximately 5% bentonite. The grout will be emplaced from the bottom
up to the surface through a tremie pipe to prevent dilution or bridging.
Enclosed you will find a well abandonment permit application and a check for $60. We anticipate
performing the work as soon as possible after approval is obtained from your office.
Sincerely,
DELTA ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANTS, INC.
Richard E.
