Mike Hansen - 3 - 10/8/87
addressed on page 23-24 and is more fully described in
references 11 and 12.
3 - We agree.
4 - To date, in bioremediation work performed by Raymond and others,
it has not been necessary to add bacteria.
5 - The lab tests were conducted at 18-200 C, which is approximately
the measured groundwater temperature. Groundwater temperatures
at 40-45' depth are not expected to have significant seasonal
variations.
6 - We agree.
7 - We agree. 1f necessary MW-17 could easily be used as part of
the reinjection/containment system.
8 - Exact placement of the recovery dells can not be accurately
determined until the aquifer tests have been conducted. Wells
will be spaced as far apart as necessary to effectively control
groundwater motion.
9 - We agree.
10 - See #8 above and #4 in part 1 .
11 - We do not have a firm prediction dor the length of the
remediation process. We expect it to be on the order of 1-2
years.
1f you or Mr. Johnson have any further questions please feel free to
contact us at 1-800-441-8140. ,
Sincerely,
d/ -
David E. Ellis
Project Manager
Carol D. Litchfield
Project Manager
