WPENDIX C : PROTOCOL FOR11GROUNDHATER SAMPLING (continued ) <br /> Label and record distinctive number on Field Notes Sheet and <br /> k <br /> Sample Custody Form, IiAppendix H and I . <br /> I <br /> r <br /> Collect 40 mL into each o`f three VOA bottles to which 6 - 8 drops <br /> of 6N hydrochloric aciid may be added . depending on the <br /> protocol of the analy4tical laboratory. Be careful not to <br /> include any entrapped'fair or to create an air bubble. Seal <br /> �a <br /> and invert the bottles to examine for air bubbles . If any <br /> are present , discard Isample and start again . <br /> Label bottles with distinctive numbers (all bottles will have <br /> the same number ) and "record the nformation on the <br /> appropriate sheets . ;Immediately place in a cooled ice chest . <br /> Collect an additional 300-500 mL for field chemical analysis . <br /> Submerge the dissolved oxygen ( DO) and CST probes into the well <br /> or into the beaker containing groundwater and record the <br /> readings on the Field+ Notes Sheet , Appendix G. Note that <br /> 9 E � pP <br /> prior to taking thesefreadings , the probes must be calibrated <br /> I <br /> and those data also recorded , Appe-ndix J . <br /> i3 <br /> Decontaminate the probes -by washing in dilute detergent , followed <br /> by 6 - 10 rinses in bottled or distilled water. <br /> Remove Tygon® tubing and discard . <br /> Disconnect the generator.! <br />
