All drilling equipment will be <br /> steam cleaned before ui se to preve t cross-contamination . The well <br /> casings will be flush thread jointed PVC. Well screen slots will be <br /> 0.016 - 0.020% All w`5ells will i elude a well point and threaded cap. <br /> All PVC materials willjlbe steam cleaned prior to installation. Well <br /> head installation will be below grade with watertight covers . Locked <br /> steel covers will be installedn <br /> a the subsurface boxes for access <br /> control . No drilling ;fluids or additives will be used. <br /> Monitoring wells will be constructed of 4" PVC installed in an a 10" <br /> t boring. Four inch wells are required for sterile microbiological <br /> iF <br /> samplers . Pumping wells will be constructed of 4" PVC installed in a <br /> 10" boring. They wil V' have 5 ' of blank pipe below the bottom of their <br /> screen and their annulus will be cemented for the bottom 5 feet . This <br /> will allow complete screening across aquifers and the installation of <br /> pumps completely below,tthe base of the hydrological zone to be <br /> controlled . We will leave an unoccupied space below the lowest intake <br /> of the pumps to allow for sediment accumulation . All well heads will <br /> :I <br /> be surveyed to establish their location and elevation . <br /> Gravel pack and characteristics will be determined in the field . The <br /> gravel pack will extend from the bottom of the well screen to a <br /> minimum of one foot abofve the screen . The gravel pack will be topped <br /> by six inches of clean sand and tw feet of clean bentonite . The <br /> wells will be grouted tlo the surfa a with bentonite/cement mix. <br /> � a <br />
