r
APPENDIX F: PUK TESTING PROTOCOLS
'i
Aquifer pump tests wil}1 be performed on selected wells . mater levels
in a well not expected1to be influenced by the pump tests will be
measured for two days ,immediately before the pump tests are conducted .
The day before the actual pump to ting , stepped drawdown tests will be
run to evaluate the efyficiency ant maximum flow rate of each well and
the most appropriate plumping rate for the tests . The step tests will
i
consist of pumping at an initial ate of 2 GPM for at least one-half
F hour , and then increasiing the pum ing rate in uniform increments at
is
half-hour intervals . `'Atmospheric pressure data may be collected on
site during the period; of well testing to help evaluate the barometric
N
efficiency of the aquifers .
Drawdown in the pumping well . will be recorded at the selected time to
allow predicting the maximum allowable test duration for each
corresponding pumping .rate. Pump tests will consist of a pumping
period , and recovery data will be collected until 90% of the drawdown
has been recovered . Pumping rates will be selected based on the
information collected ..from the stepped drawdown tests that a maximum
radius of influence ca:n be achieved with maximum allowable drawdown
within 12 - 24 hours of pumping.
