Highway 12
Lodi, California
Dear Mr. Fletcher:
This monthly report is for the soil remediation system at the Jet Gas Station, 800 E. Highway 12, Lodi,
California, for the month of February. The soil remediation system consists of a blower for gasoline-
contaminated soil vapor extraction and a thermal oxidation unit for soil vapor treatment.
The system operated as per the requirements of San Joaquin County Air Pollution Control District, Permit No.
AP 88-242 during the reporting period. A Du Pont Environmental Services (Du Pont) technician visited the site
once a week during the reporting period. Typical activities during site visits include equipment inspection,
instrument calibration, influent and effluent concentration measurements and control system adjustments. A
hand-held organic vapor analyzer (OVA) was used by field technicians to measure hydrocarbon concentrations
and one Tedlar bag air sample was collected for laboratoryanalysis.
A summary of influent concentrations and extraction rates is shown on Table A. Based on these data and an
average volumetric flow rate, the system has extracted approximately 1,307 pounds of hydrocarbons(212 gallons)
during the reporting period. The remediation system has been operating since December 28, 1989, and since
then approximately 3,215 pounds (522 gallons) of hydrocarbons have been removed from the soil and properly
treated. Attached are two figures which show cumulative gasoline extracted and gasoline extracted per month.
Respectfully submitted,
a
DU PONT ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES
f, Vivek M.
