The
d greatest difference in groundwater elevation observed across the
site before installation of well RW-1 was 0.4' . The closest
off-site wells are approximately one-tenth of a mile away and are
used intermittently for domestic or agricultural water supply and
irrigation. All of the wells apparently produce from the deeper
a lower aquifer, zone 5 or deeper, It is not anticipated that
their operation or activity will be impacted by remediation
f
activities at this site, Figure 4.
i -
Soil contamination is confined to a small area where hydrocarbons i
have trickled down to the water table. Grou Eater is affected
In a plume oriented northwestward and southea and from the tank
f
pit area, Figure' 5. The horizontal di•s utionof petroleum
F
hydrocarbons in groundwater is pri "} ited to the area
immediately underlying the s.item it " minor movement from beneath
the property off-site. Similarly, the wide-spaced stripes show
the maximum horizontal extent or boundary of total petroleum ..
hydrocarbon in: groundwater at the site. The June
groundwater -
sampling showed no contamination in well MW-11. Other perimeter. '
wells (BIW-12, 15, 16, 17) have shown significant decreases in BTX
f
F7,
levels since RW-1 began operation.
