1
SITE CLOSURE EVALUATION REPORT
ULTRAMAR STATION NO. 696
2448 WEST KETTLEMAN LANE
LODI, CALIFORNIA
DELTA PROJECT NO. D093-916
1.0 INTRODUCTION
tDelta Environmental Consultants,Inc. (Delta),has been authorized by Ultramar Inc. (Ultramar)to review
remedial actions conducted at Ultramar Station No. 696, located at 2448 West Kettleman Lane, Lodi,San
Joaquin County, California, and to evaluate whether these remedial actions have reduced concentrations
of petroleum hydrocarbons in the subsurface to levels which would warrant regulatory closure of this site.
' This report summarizes work conducted at the site and presents our findings. This report has been
prepared in accordance with Appendix B of the Tri-Regional Board Staff Recommendations for
Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation of Underground Tank Sites dated March 1, 1994, by the
California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region (CRWQCB).
' 2.0 PRO CT BACKGROUND INF RMATION
^
2.1 Site Demotion
The site is a currently operating retail gasoline station located at the southeast corner of West Kettleman
Lane and Lower Sacramento Road in Lodi, California. The location of the site is shown in Figure 1.
' The site is paved with asphalt and concrete and is occupied by a cashier office/convenience market, four
gasoline dispenser islands, and a canopy. There are three double-walled underground storage tanks at
' the site which contain regular unleaded, unleaded plus, and supreme unleaded gasoline. The elevation
of the ground surface at the site is approximately 30 feet above mean sea level and the topography in the
' vicinity of the site is virtually flat. A map of the site as it currently exists is shown in Figure 2, and a
map of the site prior to remodelling in October 1994 is shown in Figure 3. The site map shown in
' Figure 3 has been used as the base map for all other figures in this report since all field investigations
were conducted prior to October 1994.
1
The area surrounding the site includes large retail stores to the northeast and southeast, and agricultural
' land to the northwest and southwest. A currently operating retail gasoline station and convenience store
is located directly north of the site across West Kettleman Lane.
RPT134.sJs
