APPENDIX33 SITE CLOSURE EVALUATION REPORT
BEACON STATION NO.696
2448 WEST KETTLEMAN LANE
LODI,CALIFORNIA
DELTA PROJECT NO.D093-916
1.0 INTRODUCnQN
' Delta Environmental Consultants, Inc. (Delta), has been authorized by Ultramar Inc. (Ultramar) to review remedial
actions conducted at Beacon Station No. 696, located at 2448 West Kettleman Lane, Lodi, San Joaquin County,
' California, and to evaluate whether these remedial actions have reduced concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons in
the subsurface to levels which would warrant regulatory closure of this site. This report summarizes work conducted
at the site and presents our findings. This report has been prepared in accordance with Appendix B of the Tri-
Regional Board Staff Recommendations for Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation of Underground Tank Sites
dated March 1, 1994,by the California Regional Water Quality Control Board,Central Valley Region (CRWQCB).
2.0 PROJECT BACKGROUND
2.1 Site Descriptio
The site is located at the southeast corner of West Kettleman Lane and Lower Sacramento Road in Lodi, California
and is currently operating as a retail gasoline station. The location of the site is shown in Figure I_ The site is paved
with asphalt and concrete. Associated structures consist of a cashier office/convenience store, four gasoline dispenser
' islands, and a canopy. Gasoline is stored in three double-walled underground storage tanks (USTs) at the site which
contain regular unleaded, unleaded plus, and supreme unleaded. The elevation of the ground surface at the site is
approximately 30 feet above mean sea level and the topography in the vicinity of the site is flat. A map of the site as
it existed prior to remodeling is shown in Figure 2, and a map of the site following an upgrade in October 1994 is
shown as Figure 3. The site map shown in Figure 2 has been used as the base map for other figures in this report
since the field investigations were conducted prior to October 1994.
The area surrounding the site includes retail stores to the northeast and southeast, and agricultural land to the
northwest and southwest. A currently operating retail gasoline station and convenience store is located directly northof the site across West Kettleman Lane.
RPT001.916
