r y -.� sti *�, ; p i�i n.r T -•1 <br /> MAY 2 2 1992 <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH <br /> PERMIT/SERVICES Sute 100 Drive <br /> ��� Delta Rancho Cordova CA 95670 <br /> Environmen#al 9161638 2085 <br /> Consultants,Inc FAX 916/638 8385 <br /> May 12, 1992 <br /> Mr Kenneth Earnest <br /> Ultramar Inc <br /> 525 West Third Street <br /> Hanford, California 93230 <br /> Subject Quarterly Monitoring Letter Report, First Quarter 1992 <br /> Beacon Station No 696 <br /> 2448 West Kettleman Lane, Lodi, California <br /> Delta Project No 40-90-839 <br /> Dear Mr Earnest <br /> Delta Environmental Consultants, Inc (Delta), has been authorized by Ultramar Inc (Ultramar) to <br /> conduct quarterly ground water monitoring at Beacon Station No. 696 located at <br /> 2448 West Kettleman Lane, Lodi, California The location of the site is shown in Figure 1 This <br /> letter report contains results of the most recent quarterly ground water monitoring performed at the <br /> site Ground water levels were measured and ground water samples were collected for analysis on <br /> March 4, 1992 Work conducted at the site by Delta was performed in accordance with the field <br /> methods and procedures described in Enclosure A <br /> A total of 23 monitoring wells are present at and adjacent to the site as shown in Figure 2 <br /> Monitoring wells MW-20, MW-24, MW-25, MW-34, MW-35, and MW-36 contained measurable <br /> ground water on March 4, 1992 Ground water was not present in other monitoring wells at the site. <br /> The depth to ground water was approximately 49 to 50 feet below the top of the well casings <br /> Ground water levels in the monitoring wells have increased approximately 1.5 feet since the previous <br /> monitoring event in December 1991 A summary of the ground water levels recorded at the site <br /> since February 1991 are included in Table 1 <br /> The ground water level data recorded on March 4, 1992, indicate that ground water is not flowing <br /> in a uniform direction across the site (Figure 3) The chaotic pattern of groundwater flow inferred <br /> by the ground water level data is probably due to the operation of a soil vapor recovery system at <br /> the site The system has been in operation since August 1991 and applies a vacuum to vadose wells <br /> MW-2, MW-5, MW-7, MW-10, MW-19, and MW-28, and monitoring wells MW-20, MW-24, <br /> MW-34 and MW-35 Previous ground water level data recorded in February, April, and June 1991 <br /> indicated the ground water flow direction at the site was toward the south It is anticipated that the <br /> actual ground water flow direction at the site is toward the south as determined by previous <br /> monitoring events <br /> Ground water samples collected from monitoring wells MW-20, MW-24, MW-25, MW-34, MW-35, <br /> and MW-36 on March 4, 1992, were submitted to a California-certified laboratory for analysis of <br /> benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX), and total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) as <br /> gasoline A summary of these analytical results, and the analytical results from previous sampling <br /> events since February 1991, are presented in Table 2 Copies of the field sampling information <br /> Delta Delvers Solutions <br />
